Comfortable 100 year old detached Stone Cottage set in a peaceful friendly hamlet with own garden & patio area. Fully renovated and situated in a peaceful setting with a nearby lake.

The Cottage is set in a hamlet of just 7 dwellings and a farm. At the front of the cottage is a stone patio area followed on by the garden. The entrance to the cottage is on the edge of the hamlet and at the end of the garden. There is a country lane at the end which is the route for the farmer with his tractor to the fields surrounding the cottage.

Downstairs is an open plan lounge-kitchen area with a large granite fire place and wood burner. It has two sofas, TV/Video combi, Dining table & four chairs. The stairs are open plan and quite steep ( as often found in French houses ). A child's stair gate is at the foot of the stairs for children's safety. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, wash basin & toilet. At the top of the stairs is a double bedroom which leads through to the second bedroom with 3 twin beds.

The Cottage is located in a small hamlet 2 kms from the village of Plesidy and 8 kms from the bigger village of Bourbriac and is 20 mins. from the medieval town of Guingamp and the main N12 motorway. The north Brittany coast is only 45 minutes drive.

A short drive of around 45 mins gets you to many delightful sandy beaches and ports such as at Binic, Plouha, St. Quay Portrieux and the picturesque Paimpol. Not to be missed is the beautiful Pink Granite Coast between Perros Guirec and Trebeurden.

Activities

Bourbriac has a freshwater lake and beach which permits paddling & swimming at one end and fishing (without permit) at the other.

The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking or cycling (or both!). Also there are waterfalls, gorges and freshwater lakes within easy reach. The single line railway to the coast , including the steam service between Pontrieux and Paimpol, can be boarded at Pont Melvez. There is horse riding nearby and an indoor pool at Guingamp, also a recently refurbished outdoor pool at St. Nicholas du Pelem.

Bourbriac has a pharmacist as well as the usual boulangeries, charcuteries, banks, post office and small supermarket, the majority of these being situated in the main square in front of the very grand and beautiful medieval church, whose spire can be seen from afar and which contains in the crypt the relics of St. Briac. .
